About Us

Outeniqua Canoe Club was established in the late 80`s with the picturesque Garden Route Dam as a home base. It originally started with a few social members and it quickly grew into the strong and active club we see today, with paddlers on the Dam and on the Touw River, in Wilderness almost daily.

Outeniqua Canoe Club is a fully affiliated club and falls under the auspices of Canoeing South Africa.
Currently OCC has 3 separate groups that work together as one club, being George, Wilderness and Mossel Bay members, with regular social and timed paddles taking place.

OCC caters for K1/K2/K3 river paddling, whilst the flatwater paddling as well as surfski paddling on the ocean being well supported and very popular.

The club has separate storage facilities for boats at the Garden Route Dam and Ebb & Flow in Wilderness.

OCC caters for all levels of paddlers, ranging from complete novices with no equipment to tough old salty seadogs with decades of experience.
